Fire Safety

Closed doors slow the spread of fire and provide protection from heat and smoke–and that will give your family more time to react and escape should your smoke alarms sound.

For the same reasons, you should close doors behind you as you make your way through the escape route and out of the house during a fire.

Using the test button on your smoke detector, demonstrate to everyone who lives in your home the actual sound made by the alarm, and be sure they understand to get out and stay out when the alarm sounds.
